Good for tourists, bad for players. Australia’s Nick Kyrgios is told his Wimbledon headband is a violation of the All-England Club’s all-white dress code during Friday’s play.

Kyrgios appeared unfazed by the dress code issue when asked by reporters following his match.

NICK KYRGIOS: No problem, mate.

Q. Can you explain what you did with the headband? They were telling you to turn it inside out. What is your general thought about the dress code here?

Bethanie Mattek-Sands, who lost Friday to Belinda Bencic of Switzerland, had strong comments about the stricter policy earlier in the week.

Kyrgios, who is best known for beating Rafael Nadal here in the fourth round last year, will next play Richard Gasquet of France.

Wimbledon might be going a little overboard with the all-white dress code.

NICK KYRGIOS: I like it. What kind of question is that?

Q. Thanks.

Kyrgios turned his headband inside out and came back from a set down to beat Milos Raonic 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (3), 6-3 on Friday in the third round at Wimbledon.

Nick Kyrgios flips over his headband and wins his match.

The latest example came on Friday when Australia’s Nick Kyrgios was told he needed to turn around his headband because it was too colorful! Too colorful? It was an official Wimbledon headband, featuring the iconic purple and green colors of the famed All-England Club.

The Australian double-faulted three times in the final game of the first set but rode his big serve the rest of the way, finishing with 34 aces to beat the Canadian on Court No. 2.

Q. What’s the situation with the headband?

Here is the exchange he had with the press on the headband:

“It was funny, because I was actually Googling some players like when John McEnroe played, Arthur Ashe, they had color everywhere. They had color on their sleeves, big stripes, they were coming out in colored jackets. So I feel it’s actually gotten stricter.”

Mattek-Sands even joked that she didn’t even wear white in her own wedding.

“I think it’s gotten a little excessive,” the American said. “I missed last year. I actually packed in my bag some of the skirts with the colored underwear and obviously that’s a no go this year. I’m upset about that.

NICK KYRGIOS: They told me to turn it around, so I turned it around.

In an interesting twist, Wimbledon has allowed Dustin Brown - who upset Nadal on Thursday - to wear a red scrunchy in his hair, a red wrist band and a colorful beaded necklace.
