The Scene: Fashion at the Peruvian Embassy - Washington Post (blog)

June 23, 2024 / no comments, on Fashion Advices

“I want to show the younger, trendy side of Peru,” explained Luis Miguel Castilla, the Peruvian ambassador to the United States, during a Monday evening garden party celebrating Peruvian design at the embassy’s residence in Forest Hills. “We are fashionable. See?” said Castilla pointing to himself and Giuseppe Lanzone — former Ralph Lauren model, Olympian and co-owner of the Peruvian Brothers food truck.

The nearly 200 guests — representatives from the diplomatic corps and the fashion world — sipping on Macchu Pisco cocktails certainly saw for themselves, especially as Peruvian fashion designer Sergio Dávila glided through the crowd dressed in one of his signature pastel Lima-chic suits.
