During her acceptance speech, the rapper thanked BET for awarding a female artist who writes her own lyrics. “When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it,” she said. The comment was widely publicized as being aimed at Iggy Azalea, who was nominated in the same category.
