R. Kelly arrested on federal charges of child pornography and transport of women and girls by sex

A charge of five counts in the eastern district of New York has accused Kelly, 52, of sexual exploitation of a child, kidnapping, forced labor and violations of the Mann Act that involve the coercion and transport of women and girls in commerce interstate to engage in illegal sexual activity from 1999 to the present.

"R. Kelly's business was not only engaged in music: as presumably, for two decades the enterprise directed by R. Kelly preached young women and adolescents whose dreams of meeting a superstar soon turned into a nightmare of rape, child pornography The musician turned into a predator would have used his celebrity to convince some victims in nefarious sexual acts while some members of his company have facilitated the aberrant behavior in football, "Angel Melendez, special agent of the national security.

Kelly vehemently denied allegations of sexual misconduct in the past.

The allegations in the New York prosecution describe alleged incidents in four states: Illinois, Connecticut, California and New York. There are five Jane referenced in everything – including three minors. Kelly is the only defendant in the indictment filed on 10 July.

The prosecution also claims to have exposed at least one individual to a sexually transmitted disease without disclosing it.

On Friday, a 13-point survey against Kelly was released in the northern Illinois district.

In it, he was charged with a conspiracy count to receive child pornography, two receptionists of child pornography, four heads of child pornography production, five charges of enticing a child to perform sexual criminal activities and a conspiracy count to obstruct the justice.

This accusation claims that Kelly has made child pornography at least four girls under the age of 18 and that he and his colleagues obstructed justice by paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to not cooperate with the authorities, give false testimonies to a grand jury and buy back videos of sexual activity.

Kelly's lawyer said the allegations seem to be "the same as the behavior previously complained against R. Kelly in his current state prosecution and his previous state accusations".

"He and his lawyers don't see it now that he begins his verdict in court, the truth that comes out and his claim to what has been an unprecedented assault by others for his personal gain," he said in a note the attorney Steve Greenberg. "The most important thing is that he does not see the time to continue to make wonderful music and perform for his legions of fans who believe in him."

Kelly had been forced by the Illinois state charges.

The singer will be held Friday at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago, according to the records of the US Bureau of Prisons. It will appear Friday afternoon for a removal hearing at the Chicago federal court and will be presented later in Brooklyn, according to a statement from the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York.

The New York Police Department, national security investigations and other federal partners attended Thursday's arrest, a source told the ordering forces.

R. Kelly had "rules", says the accusation

The authorities accuse Kelly and other members of the "Enterprise" – described in the New York complaint while Kelly and his executives, bodyguards, drivers, personal assistants and members of his entourage – organized for women and girls to travel out of town to occasionally see Kelly, even at concerts.

When the women arrived at the lodging they usually received instructions and Kelly created numerous rules that her sexual partners had to follow: they could not leave their rooms without Kelly's permission, including eating or going to the bathroom; they had to wear loose clothing unless accompanied by Kelly; they could not look at the other men and they had to turn to Kelly as "dad", said the accusation.

It is assumed that Kelly and her collaborators have obtained sensitive information about the members and members of the "company" to maintain control over them, requested absolute "commitment" to Kelly and isolated women and girls from friends and family, making them dependent on Kelly for their well-being

He faced accusations of abuse for decades

Until Thursday, Kelly was free of a $ 1 million bond in February.

He has faced accusations of abuse, manipulation and inappropriate encounters with girls and young women for over two decades and has been tried previously.

In 2002, Cook County authorities indicted Kelly on 21 charges related to child pornography. A jury acquitted him of all charges when the case was finally tried in 2008.
The interest in the case against Kelly was taken up last year when the "Surviving R. Kelly" documentary series aired on Lifetime.

Last February, he was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four alleged victims, including three who were minors under the accusation. The charges range from 1998 to 2010. Kelly has pleaded not guilty.

He released the $ 100,000 bail and left the Chicago County jail less than three days after he was arrested. He was arrested and imprisoned again in March for not paying his ex-wife's daughter support for $ 161,000.
At the end of May, a grand jury charged him with 11 further charges relating to one of the four accusers, including aggravated criminal sexual assaults, a class X crime; and criminal sexual violence, a first-class crime. A person convicted of class X crimes can get up to 30 years in prison according to the Illinois law.

Two Kelly associates indicted

R. Kelly faces new and more serious accusations in the case of sexual abuse

Two former Kelly employees were indicted in Chicago.

Derrel McDavid, 58, identified as Kelly's commercial director, was charged with a conspiracy count to receive child pornography, two counts of receiving child pornography and a conspiracy count to thwart justice. He appeared in court on Friday and pleaded not guilty.

Kelly and McDavid paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to a person identified as "Individual B" to retrieve sex videos that disappeared in 2001 from Kelly's personal collection, he said.

When Individual B announced plans for a press conference in June 2008 to announce that he owned sex videos of R. Kelly, $ 170,000 was paid to cancel the press conference, the prosecution says.

According to the accusation, Kelly and McDavid paid at least one of the girls shown on the sex tapes, identified as minors number 1, to give false testimonies to the grand jury. The two men paid $ 250,000 to Minor No. 2 to return the video that showed her and Kelly having sex, he said the accusation.

The other employee accused is Milton "June" Brown, 53 years old. He was charged with a conspiracy count to receive child pornography and is scheduled to appear in court on June 19th.

"Where's my daughter?"

Darrell Johnson

Kelly's publicist, Darrell Johnson, was asking questions at a press conference in Atlanta on Friday morning when Joycelyn Savage's 23-year-old family, one of Kelly's friends, started shouting "Where's my daughter, answer this question! "

Timothy Savage, father of Joycelyn Savage, said on Friday he had not seen his daughter since 2016 and had not spoken to her on a conference call in July 2017, in which he asked them to stop trying to contact her.

"We want answers and we want them now," said Timothy Savage.

He and other parents claim that Kelly controlled the lives of their daughters and manipulated them to cut off contact with the outside world, including their families.

"I don't know anything," Johnson told the family. He promised to meet them in private after the press conference.

Johnson said that Kelly is innocent and that the charges were a repetition of previous charges.

"It's not new, we expected this to happen," said Johnson.

This story has been updated to include the specific charges of the two indictments.
